So now that the EAA Airventure is over, who is going to the Antique Airplane Assn. fly-in at Blakesburg, IA coming up over the Labor Day weekend? I understand that last year they had a very good turn out of Taylorcraft aircraft.... is that true? I hope to be there from California.... four day trip.... so what about those much closer?

Maybe we should have a friendly get together some time during the event? It is less then three weeks away... hope you can make it and I can see a face from those on the forum.

    Re: Blakesburg

We will be there Lord willing and the sun shines. Last year there were about a dozen Taylorcrafts there, but it was offically the year of the Luscombe about70 Luscombes were on the field. It is truly a great gathering of old and restored aircraft, unlike Oskosh with all it fabulos technology and displays, this is grass roots and a lot of fun, there are usally about 400 aircraft that show up. Can't mis it.

I'm planing to be there, if only for Saturday/Sunday at least. The past two years weather and family commitments kept me away. Hope to see some of you there this year.

I would like to invite you to stop at Osceola IA (I75) about 40 min West of Blakesburg. We have 9 Taylorcraft based here, including the F21 built for Doroth Farris.

If you are coming out early we are also having a Taildragger Fly In Aug22-24. We will be having flour drop, Stewart System covering forum, Taylorcraft trip to Alasks planning forum, andlots of good food and movies.

          Stop by and see us----Mark

            Re: Blakesburg

I will be there Thursday and Friday weather and machine permitting. We will be passing through from Rochester Ny area to central Az. We won't be in our Taylorcraft. We will be in a Lambert Monocoupe 90A, white with yellow trim.

Hope to meet some of the tribe there.

I'm doing rain dances right now, and if one of them works I'll be there Fri. afternoon. I won't be bringing the t-craft, (I'm hoping to get that home thur. after a six month long annual) I'm riding with a fellow farmer in his Navion.

                One DCO and one BC12...

Scud run for 100 miles and landed at Albia yesterday.

Thank God they closed before we got there because there's no way in hell we would have got back out. The Clip-Wing T-craft dude did a nice show last night.
