I can take the box out to re-charge (get about 7 hours of time on the batteries reliably) or recharge it in place in the hanger. I found that the electronic shop in Lancaster, PA had no problem with signing off on the bi-annual requirement -- been doing that for 6 years now with no problems.

    What I haven't seen yet is a way to meet the ADS-B output requirement that is facing us in 2020. While there are now mode S transponders that can be portable, the bug is the requirement for a TSO'd GPS output squitter. Any ideas?
    Garmin GLD-88 and don't need mode s transponder need a blind encoder that will interface with the GLD-88 ABOUT 6500.00 WORTH OF STUFF I THINK??
