  • I'm Still Alive!!

Hey there tribe. Just wanted to let everyone know that I am still alive, but what a mess. Ive been dealing with a medical heli evac outfit who wanted to lease me house on the airport since late November or early December. They offered me more then I could imagine to move. We came to terms, signed contracts and I had to be out by the 1st of april(plenty of time, right?,lol) So after going thru hell and back to close the deal on the house I had already been wanting located adjacent to property I already owned we were able to get the deal closed on the 15th of march and moved out by the last weekend in march....that was close. I the mist of if all with bad weather, work, kids, etc... I let myself get a little run down and caught the flu, not that big of deal for most folks but I'm a guy who never gets sick and always works threw any pain, but never really been sick much so I didn't quite understand the risks of working, lifting, hot, cold, rain, snow, warm one day, cold the next, in and out all while having the flu....less then five days after moving into the new house i learned that the heli evac folks were backing out of our already signed contract, followed by my wife and a friend packing me from my bed to a car and took me to the hospital where I spent the better part of the next two weeks trying to recover from what the doctors said was the single worst case of pnmonia they have ever seen in a person who was still breathing without a machine! I was put on a little bed that rolled me back and forth constantly which made me motion sick beyond belief(another thing I had never experienced). I was on a ventilator for about 3 days while they constantly drained crap from my chest.

Anyway, I'm home now. I feel pretty good, finally started working on airplanes again, haven't flown yet since before the move but maybe today??? The heli evac folks started to leave me completely high and dry with no way to make ends meet with the new house and prexisting dept. But I was smart enough to make them add minimum 2 year clause in the contract which will help but still leave me several thoasand in the hole and very tight making ends meet for the next year or two. After talking to them they say they are going to make it right so that I'm not at a loss and am able to continue with life as normal....I think they just want to make sure it stays outta court, we will see what happens I guess. If they hold up to thier promise I will honer mine. All this after begging, and agervating the shit outta me almost daily for two months wanting me to be out before the april 1st deadline so they could move in faster, then they found a lot next door to the hospital and decide it was better suiting for them...go figure! I don't think they realized the lot they left me for is zoned residential and they are not going to be able to get it rezoned.

Anyway, I'll try to get back more often and keep up with everyone. Now I gotta go talk to the bank and see if they have any words of wisdom on how to change gears a little bit so I can settle a couple of other depts that can't be done as previously planned. Happy late easter to everyone.

          Re: I'm Still Alive!!

          Thanks Terry,
Not sure what it is with me and medi-vac heli's but I do tend to have a negative outcome around them,lol.....not really very funny but oh we'll.

          John,
Thanks for the complement. I too feel like things happen for a reason, just wish I knew what the reasons were. On one side I must agree with Forrest Gumps mother, life is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what your gonna get. And on the other hand Life is what you make it for yourself, but sometimes things happen that are out of your control and you deal with them as best you can.....which leads us back to the first saying. So I guess the two kinda go together.

          Mike,
Thanks for the best wishes and prayers.

            Kev,

I tried to respond to you earlier via my phone but it did not go through. If it isn't a tornado it's pneumonia. Hope you are doing alright.
            Cheers,

Thanks Marty, I'll give ya a call tomorrow. Probably too late tonight. I've had my phone with me all day but also been on it a lot so that might be what happened.
