    Re: Expired airworthiness certificates

Just checked mine 1957 And says right on the card that it will not expire as long as aircraft is mntaned in accordance with Xxxxxxx. Don't remember the rest. Just had to slide in that new registration cirtificat we have to get now very few years.

      Re: Expired airworthiness certificates

[QUOTE=lpers1;81942]My mechanic (IA) told me that he was told by the district FSDO that airworthiness certificates issued before July of 1957 were no longer valid. Can this be right? If so, do I have go through an entire re-inspection process to get a valid airworthiness certificate?

Since we are dealing with the FAA, it sounds like each office will have a different view, my Tcraft's A/W is dated 7/25/56, in Block 4 it has the word "expire" blacked out and the stamp that states "Remain in effect as long as.......", I called my PMI, he says it is my call if I want to change it or not, the FAA recommends, but is not telling me to, just to throw in my 2 bits, gary

Chances are Block 4 shows the statement "Remain in effect as long as....", and if it does, that will explain how lots of mechanics have signed off an annual, wish you the best, gary
