I put my skis on and haven't even flown, the weather been bad every time I want to go. When to the cabin on a snowmachine and the ice was good, no overflow.

Out here in Iliamna just rain, rain, and more rain. Ice is good but all the rain has made overflow a nightmare....so my plane still sits on wheels for the time being.

Tim a layer of water on top of ice and under a layer of snow. when landing on a lake with overflow it can get real bad when you sink in it .

Here are some links that give some info on "Overflow".

(you may have to click "off" on a popup on the 2nd one, but the info is worth reading, I think).

I'm going to walk out on the lake ice right now and see if the last snowfall was able to create a useable surface. It's about 13 degrees F below Zero right now. Dick
