Here's hoping you can publicize our event with your members. We are the largest Fly-In (and car show!) in New England. Last year we attracted 700 beautiful display airplanes and cars of virtually every type and vintage. Our event is Sept 15 at 4B9, located in north-central Connecticut.
Our show features many activities for pilots and their families. Special this year are:
- Display of the Whitehead aircraft replica, alleged to have flown two years before the Wrights. A seminar, too.
- Cirrus VisionJet full scale mockup
- Two aircraft from Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome: a Tiger Moth and a WWI Spad fighter.
- RE/MAX hot air balloon tethered rides, winds permitting.
- Formation Flying demo
- Free aviation seminars
- Test run of 1920 Union blimp engine (Noisy!!)
- Judging and trophies in many categories
- Many new aircraft on display by dealers
- 26 new cars on display by dealers
- Many non-aviation vendors displaying their products and services
- Ben and Jerry's ice cream, plus many other specialty food vendors
- Kids' activities
- Breakfast and lunch
You can get full details, including video, FAA approach procedures, event schedule, drive directions, contact info, and much more at www.simsburyflyin.com.
It's a great aviation event. Please join us.
