OK, this is NOT Taylorcraft related...but someone here might have some ideas for me.
I'm doing some genealogy research and came up with this photograph of a family reunion. The photo was dated Easter 1946 by someone, but judging by the airplane and the girls costumes, I'm thinking it's maybe from sometime in the 30's.
The photo was taken in Minnesota or northern Iowa. The guy in the center with the farmer tan is Benjamin Franklin Smith who was born around 1895 and served in the Navy in WWI. I can probably identify the rest of these folks if I can get an approximate date to the photo.
Any idea what kind of airplane that they are posing with? Years that plane would have been active in the midwest? Any other date clues I might be missing?
