Hi Tribe, my wife and I left New Iberia LA for VA Beach VA Wed the 6th of Oct. We pulled our motorcycles and rode them in the Smokey Mnts. for a couple of days including the Blue Ridge and the dreaded "Dragon's Tail". Very enjoyable, visited the "Wheels through Time" museum in Maggie Valley N.C. Included there was a Harley powered airplane.

We arrived here in VA Beach yesterday Oct. 11, and will be here for five days. Planning on heading to Kitty Hawk and ride our Bikes there then back to the Blue Ridge for a couple more days. After that going to Nashville TN to visit my brother, then head on home.

Haven't spoken with Harry since I left, but did the day before we left and he said he should be started on my "T-Craft" by the time we get back to the house.

If any T-Cart owners are in or near our path, and would like us to visit, we would love to see their t- and visit a few minutes.

PS: On an aside. Thanks Robert, I believe you did the correct thing. Unless there is something constructive or truthful that we should know of, then it should be posted.

    Just my thinking; Lee

Virginia-Carolinas Taylorcraft Owner's Club is all over that area.

Tom Pittman, Pres. is on this list [email protected]

Bought my current flying Taylorcraft N95901 from Ernie Bryant in Va. Beach. Flew it from there to Gadsden, AL one hazy day in 2000. He now has a C170b but I know he loves to talk t-craft.

Ah the sounds of those names. Smokies, Dragon's tail, Maggie Valley , Blowing Rock, Asheville, NC, motorcycles, Taylorcrafts, etc. WE have just bought a 93 Goldwing SE with everything Markland ever built for her. Patty & I have to hit the Skyline drive again soon!!

It has been over 20 years since we were there, back in the days of Merton Meade & Leesburg. We are celebrating our 40th Wedding Anniversary this Oct 15th , we were going to Niagria Falls, rain says NO! so we are heading for Mountaineer in W. Va. to relax,, eat, gamble, eat , play , eat.....You all get the drift. Once back on Oct 16th I have many projects to get back to now that the HOUSE IS SOLD!!!

Did I mention the house is sold!!! Yes I will do the data plates, ship the pulleys, find the round wheels, ship the pulley & trim screw, and about 10 other bits of stuff. bye
If any of you have met Yves StLoupe, we have real sad news . Charlie his faithful German Shepard has gone west after a real bad auto accident. So sorry for Yves & Charleeee

                  Charlie

So sorry to hear about Charlie. I met Yves and Charlie at the reunion last August and was intrigued by how Charlie would fly with Yves in the T-Craft. From what I recall they were headed west to Alaska after the reunion.

Here is a picture of Charlie in his spot in the back of the T before they left.

                    Yves,
Please accept my heartfelt condolances. I never had a four legged navigator, but I know what it's like to lose a best friend and running buddy. Sabrina

My heart goes out to Yves.I know to most of you this will be no compareson to a dog but I'll tell it anyway because it is special to me.
About a year ago while working on Crispy Critter I had this silly little kitten wonder into the hanger. He couldn't have been more than a few weeks old and it looked as if he had been on the loosing end of a bad battle. So feeling sorry for him I gave him something to eat and drink and I have been stuck with him ever since. He was always under my feet as I worked and I can't count the times I stepped on him.I would try to run him off or put him out of the hanger so I wouldn't keep stepping on him but he always found a way to get back in.One time I stepped on him and thought I had done him in,but after a trip to the vet it turned out that he had a couple broken ribs and would heel fine as long as I kept my big feet off him .So finally after putting him out several times in an attempt to get something done(with no luck)I just set him up on my shoulders and continued working, that's where he has been ever since when I work in the hanger.I get teased a lot about it but I really don't care.I've gotten so used to working with that crazy cat on my shoulders that I really don't think much of it.In fact I'm not sure what I would do without him now.I would feel off balance if he was gone.
