The "Overflow" blues!

The Alaskan tribe will know what this is all about! There are about 8 inches of water on top of about 2+ feet of ice. The weight of the snow has forced the ice down and water has found its way around the outer edges or up through cracks or icefishing holes. I wound up setting down in the water while lifting the tail and setting it on the block of firewood! Hopefully a couple of nights of freezing wx will firm up the "pond". You'll notice the skis are blocked up off the ice, to avoid having them freeze down. Anyone else fighting this? Dick

I know what you are talking about. I don't have a plane on skiis to contend with, but I try to maintain a rink on our lake for the neighborhood kids. It is much like a complex helicopter, ten hours of maintenance for each one hour of skating. Quite often after a very heavy snow, the snow load on the ice causes water to flood the lake over the ice and create a six inch layer of slush under the snow (just like you have described)!! When that happens I usually write off the rink for the rest of the winter.
