      Still don't know him, but interesting history. First he is a proponent for small aircraft around big airports and then proposed a ban on general aviation aircraft around major airports. Sounds like someone who forgot his roots. Interesting read, though, thanks for the info.

      What is also interesting is that T-Craft he test flew in the article is still registered here in Illinois.

        Hi, friends
        I must admit that I made a mistake in my last comment here few days ago.
        I think, yes, the Taylorcraft 85 HP come out in 1948. But the model "Sportsman" 85 HP
        was marketed in year 1951.
        Apparently by Taylorcraft propagande published in FLYING magazine of august 1951,
        you can notice that already had the large window which was used later in model 19.
