Sandia Aerospace announces the FAA TSO certification and immediate deliveries of it STX 165 panel mounted Mode C transponder. The STX 165 has a built-in TSO’d encoder that greatly reduces installation cost and complexity.
The STX 165 measures slightly over 6” behind the panel and uses a ½ 3ATI panel cut out. This is the same form factor that is found in corporate jets and airliners and along with the bright OLED display adds to the STX165’s profession look. The STX 165 has three timer functions. An Elapsed Flight Time that lets the pilot know how long he has been airborne, a resettable Count Up timer can be used for timing legs of a holding pattern or for use in fuel management and a Count Down timer that is ideal for timing approaches. The STX 165 displays the built-in encoder’s pressure altitude and with the addition of Sandia Aerospace’s STP 76 optional OAT probe will display OAT, Density Altitude and an Icing alert.

Also TSO certified is the STX 165R remote transponder. The STX 165R is designed for use with other manufactures Nav Management systems.
