  • Rebuilt Stromberg NAS3A1 for sale

This is my dad's. He was going to use it on his experimental but has since switched to a Marvel. He bought this approx 3yrs ago. The person he bought it from had done a rebuild on it. As it was going to be used in an experimental the rebuild was not done per FAA and signed off accordingly. I suspect it'll have to be dismantled and checked in accordance with the regs to be used on a standard certified aircraft.

It was originally installed on a C-85 from what I'm told. We do not know if it has the delrin needle for mogas but we are almost certain it does.

    He's looking to get $400.

    Hey DJ,

Though parts and venturis can get changed out and make the part number useless, there is a number stamped on the flange where the carb bolts up to the engine. Can you still read what it is? Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Marty

I've got an extra NA-S3A1, on one side of the flange all the #'s are "x"ed out, 90 deg. is: PL391156-1,then opposite that side is: 530625, the "x"ed out #'s end in 2, the others are unreadable, Tom

          DJ,

I cannot find that exact part number, but A-18033A is for an A-65. I will do some more checking.

          T. Taylor, you got me on that one. The big thing is to check venturi, jet sizes, etc. There is a ton of info online for Strombergs.
          Cheers,
          Marty

As my memory serve me the person who rebuilt it set it up with the larger venturi as he was going to be using it on a Corvair conversion.

              DJ,

You can measure it and find out. There are always unknowns with these until you look inside. Good luck!
