Now that I've let my medical lapse and gone Sport Pilot, I'm gradually letting go of my dreams for owning some fantasy airplanes (F24R-46, AN-2, DC-3, DeHavilland Rapide...) The Fairchild 24R was perhaps the most realistic "next airplane" on that list, and I actually bought some manuals over the years, you know, just in case I won the lottery.
I know some of you also own, or lust after, Fairchilds, so here's a start for the "ya never know" section of your own bookcase:
Fairchild 24-R40 & 24-W40 instruction manual (reproduction I bought from the Fairchild Club)
Fairchild F24 maintenance, parts & operations handbook (Fairchild Club reproduction)
Fairchild 24R-46 laminated checklist (Fairchild Club reproduction)
Ranger Aircraft Engines parts catalog for models 6-390 & 6-410 (original, undated, green cardboard binding; not the Ranger 6-440-C-2 used in the 24, but I didn't know better when I bought this years ago in the FlyMart at Oshkosh)
Lou Fulgaro's 2003 memoir "The R46 and Little Louie" (paperback, slight water damage in one corner from touching the tent fabric overnight at some fly-in)
$35, postage included, for the lot. PM or email me: [email protected].
