  • Engine change

I want to replace my 65hp and prop with an 0200. My 65 Cont. has 600 hours on it, eisman mags. ALL engine logs are here. Prop is a 72-40 sensich wooden prop. It was overhauled by the former owner, an excellent mechanic and teacher and his AI buddy. It burns little oil, (quart in 12 hours) or so, in hot summer with 20-50 phillips. Prop is like new. Engine starts and runs well, comp. are all in mid 70's. What do it be worth? (Engine is very clean and detailed, leaks no oil anywhere.) Last flown, 3 days ago. JC

    Re: Engine change

Go to Barnstormers.com and look at what is advertised there. Will give you an idea what to ask for your engine.

Have you looked into the C-85 with the O200 crank conversion? Gives about the same horse power at takeoff as the O200 and uses the same engine mount and exhaust as the A65 and does not require any cowling modifications.

YES! I was speaking with Bill Pancake the other day and he also suggested the 85 conversion. It makes sense. Thanks for your advice! JC
