You might try phoning Antonio Villalobos at the Taylorcraft factory in Texas. It looks like they might still have a lot of NOS door latch parts in stock:

I'm really pleased with some parts I bought from him last week. Gave him my credit card info over the phone, he phoned back with the FedEx tracking number, and this little wooden crate he made appeared on my doorstep as ordered.
