Hello all,
I'm thinking about parting out all three of my COMPLETE taylorcraft projects(NOT CRISPY CRITTER!!). You guys can make offers on each of the projects, each, any, and/or all parts or the whole lot. I need to get Crispy done,I need to get my Starduster done, and I need to help dad finish our 1948 C-170 project. I don't have the room to store them anymore,I don't have the time to put into them, I'm tired of stepping around and over them, and I could sure use the extra money for Crispy and the Starduster.
Here's what I have....
1946 Taylorcraft BC12D,complete project,no engine,no engine accessories,no engine mount, decent cowling, minor (very minor) damage to the trailing edge of the right wing which will need about 3-4 ribs repaired,no spar damage, needs to be recovered,I would recomend replacing the struts, I have all the parts except what I mentioned above. Logs start in the the late 1960's or early 1970's.
1946 BC12D(at least that's what the paperwork says). In reality it is a 1940 or 1941 BC12 with truss built 15 rib wings that need cleaned up and recovered. Spars are dirty and have been revarnished at least a couple of different times but once you scrape all that old mis-matched varnish off the spars the wood looks excellent. Very little corrosion on anything. The fuslage is still covered and seems to be sound but it has two or three layers of paint(some auto paint, some not) which is cracking, peeling, and very brittle. I would recommend recovering everything. It includes everything from tail to spinner except the prop(I have no servicable prop for any A-65 continental). The engine is a high time A65 Cont but runs great, excellent compressions, leaks some oil,and starts first pull everytime...has been piclkled now for about a year in dry storage. The only thing on this airplane that is NOT pre-war is the vertical, rudder, and paperwork. I would probably keep this one anyway if I could sell the others but would like to find some pre-war paperwark for it so I can make it all appear legal if nothing else .
...And now we have the 1977 F-19 with no AWC or current registration....PARTS!!!!! I will be parting out everything except the wheels, brakes, gear legs, boot cowl, doors(might let the doors go),bungee covers, and triangle belly pan between the gear legs. Everything else is up for grabs but I want reasonable offers guys and gals. Everything on this F-19 is in factory looking NEW condition(might have a little dirt on it but that's all). All wings, control surfaces, and covered parts are covered in ceconite Tennessee Red butrayte dope that has never hardly seen sunlight and is in perfect condition. I also have new SS exhaust and good heat muffs for an F-19, new engine mount for model/F-19, Like new McCauley 70/48 prop for an F-19(original prop),and all kinds of other goodies. Once again, make me a reasonable offer on the entire lot minus the listed item or on each piece that you might need. I DON'T have ANY cowling parts for the F-19 except the nose bowl and it is near perfect.
I don't want to sound rude or disrespectful but if you make an offer please make it reasonable,I would like to at least try to break even on them. I have a lot of money tied up in these things and I hate to part them out but they really need to go or I will never get anything else done.
Thanks and here's my phone number
also.
