I put a smaller ELT with an internal antenna in my restoration. ELT and bracket weigh 4 pounds. 2-year replacement batteries alone cost $26.95, but I'm asking only $25 for all of this, plus shipping.

Sorry Joel, your work is too good and your airplane is too nice: the antique airplane basket cases of the world have spoken to me in a ghostly dream, and they told me that they've agreed YOU need to become one of those "serial restorers" that breathes the life back in !

One of the windblown Waco carcasses even whispered to me that I should volunteer for you to blame it all on when you explain this to your wife. I have a big black hat all ready to wear and be the bad guy. Tell her I held a gun to your head and said you have to build up another airplane...

Bill, you're too kind. But my wife was just reading the computer screen over my shoulder, and rather emphatically said "No."

(Although now that she's left the room I can confess that I just ordered Fairchild 24 manuals from Essco, and I've started a manila folder labeled "Fairchild 24R" in the "next airplane" section at the back of my file cabinet. She has said it would be nice to have a bigger plane -- the challenge will be convincing her that should be second plane in addition to the Taylorcraft.

I also have a Antonov AN-2 photo on the refrigerator, trying to subliminally desensitize her.)

I am restoring a Fairchild 24R also-finally have most of it finished-it's been a spare time project so it has taken quite a while. It was in the process of being parted out and was missing a lot of the hard to find stuff and I have found quite a few sources for parts and have made some wood forms for making instrument panel sub panels and a form to make outer door skins etc and saved a few old ribs for patterns. Let me know if I can help-they are really fun to work on,especially if you like wood work. By the way--what I tell my wife is that it is like flying in a big old car and she can take all her stuff and work on her quilt when we go on a trip.
