  • 46 Aeronca Super Chief Project

I will be taking in a 46 Super Chief groundloop project, with the big tail and paperwork for up to 100 or 108 horsepower. This makes it a classic airplane that can also actually go places and get off the ground with your 300 pound Grandpa Bubba riding along.

This is NOT a basketcase, and NOT a severely bent airplane. Fairly straightforward and simple repair to landing gear area.

    No engine / prop included.
    Some welding is needed.
    Needs spars.
Sheet metal good, cowlings good. Has rear cabin fuel tank.
Paperwork is being dealt with now, will have average to good paperwork before it is sold.
Fabric off. Located in bone-dry Arizona.

Right now I'm just floating this out there for discussion. I don't have it in my hangar yet, and I don't have pictures of it yet. I am probably more interested in trading it than selling it. I'm interested in trades for sailplanes, gliders, some single seat experimentals, some engines. I have not yet put a dollar value on this yet for a straight sale, because I don't have it in my greasy fingers yet.

Anyone interested? This should be a reasonably valuable LSA when it's all rebuilt because it can use an O-200 or O-235.

    Bill,
Is this an STC'ed Super Chief or is it the 11CC Super Cheif ? The 11CC is not LSA legal.
