    Re: Tachometer adapter

Little confused, male to male ends. I just replaced my tach , unk if original or not but it has a 90 degree angle on back of the tach inst that is female and accepts a male end from the cable. When I bought a new cable from A/Spruce the cable comes with a female end on both sides. To make a long story short I had to buy a new tach (which I only just wanted in the first place) and new right angle adapter that attaches to rear of new inst and new cable and had to put a right angle adapter on the Cont 65 also. Yep two right angle drives. Had to send first cable back due to poor construction and the right angle drive on the inst would bind up until I found that one of the fitting had to have a washer under it to keep it free. Was a big mess just to have a new tach. I still have the old tach (that has the right angle drive built into the inst and it is female) Have the cable too with male end at tach end but female at engine end. reason for changing is the old tach needle would bounce around and no recording time. Kinda in a middle of on going rebuild, replace most inst and new windshield, baffles, paint etc.

      Re: Tachometer adapter

Some of the old set ups had the female thread on the tach and male on the cable.

Mine had that and when I got a new tach made an adapter for the cable end but a new cable does seem like a better idea.
