For sale: A65-8F flanged crankshaft engine.
Serial number 5518268
This engine was last run in 1995 when it was removed from a BC-12D for an engine upgrade. It was airworthy at that time but had marginal compression on one cylinder on the annual prior. (it is a Continental after all)
The engine is complete with Stromberg carb and has one Eismann and one Case Magneto. I believe the carb is off (but included) the rest of the engine has not been disassembled. This engine was installed in the plane in 1960 with 300 non-documented hours on it. It was overhauled at that time and the internal components are standard dimensions. It has had cylinder work since that time and best I can tell the present cylinders are .015 oversized and were installed in 1971.
The engine total time is 1917.9 according to the logs and the last cylinder work was a hone and re-ring in 1984 at 1378 hours.
The engine is located 50 miles south of Atlanta, GA and the price is $2,000.00 as is. I have the logs back to 1960 and can make a copy of them but prefer to keep them as part of the aircraft record of the plane the engine came off of.
Phone 770-567-9299 or 770-584-9020 or email me at [email protected]
The logs show a prop strike in 1971 at 990.5 hours. There are no exhaust parts with it.
