Hey tribe. I got home with another T-craft yesterday.Say hello to N96434.She has been upgraded to a BC12D-85 and is all there. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet but thinking of restoring or selling as a project. If one replaced the horizonal stabs(they are pretty much beyond saving, there were no drain hole in them and it was parked outside) and recovered the elevators she would probably make a nice flying bird but I would recommend a total recover. She was last recovered in 1992 with ceconite but the idiot who did it didn't use any nitrate dope,he just used clear buterayte, silver, then color dope. Now the dpoe is starting to peal in places. The engine is a C-85-8F and has 230smoh.Logs go back to 1952 on the airframe.Engine logs go back to the last major overhaul in 1992. You guys tell me what you think about it and give me some encouragement on what you think I should do with her....Show winning restore, project for sell, or,forgive me for this one but....part her out for all who need them? I really don't like that last idea but I do know many of you need parts and I could use a couple pieces from it to finish Crispy. You guys help me vote on it but keep in mind I have 3 projects already in my shop(including Crispy).
Here's some pics just the way I found her.Been setting like this for just under a year.

Awwwwwwww........ it's a keeper, Kevin!!!!! I've got N96337. It looks like the guy got a little skimpy on the silver too, from the looks of that interior shot of the fuselage.... pretty typical. My vote is to keep it and enjoy that combo of engine/airplane!!

JH, I already have Crispy that is almost finished that will have a non-electric O200 on a short mount,I don't know what I'm going to do with her yet....she needs a name before I can do much with her.
As for the silver you are correct.Another goof they did was they covered it with ceconite and didn't use any nitrate.Looks like they simply sprayed the buterayte, then silver, then dope. However the paint is still pretty flexible, hardly any cracking or peeling, and still cleans and shines good. The fabric is still great on it too.

Somebody just gave her a name in the reply to your original post... You already owned Crispy Critter, and now you have Skimpy Silver!

Your "nose art" for it can be a strip tease dancer with a ... skimpy... silver hanky wrapped around her! C'mon, you could have a ball with that at airshows

By what looks ike paint slopped everywhere (yolks, Tcraft logo), I'd say the Stevie Wonder Special. Or you could say it was rebuilt by The Lighthouse for the Blind. After you land, open the door and fell your way out with a white cane. (No slight intended to those with impaired vision.)
