  • Smith Miniplane for sale

    Tribe,
    I have a nice little smith miniplane for sale.I found another T-craft I want and between keeping up a project(crispy critter),building a house,and 4 children money is not at it's highest peak for me at the moment.All the money from the sell of my smith mini will go in on this T-craft that I've found and I would really like to have it but I will need to sell this smith in the next month or so or the T-craft will be gone .
    The smith is as follows;
    1300+/-TTAF,C-65 300smoh,65"X60"prop,inverted fuel,cub disk brakes,wheel pants,streamline flying wires,etc.It was first completed in 1964 and completely restored in 1991 with ceconite.I bought this airplane without engine or prop,it was built with a C-85-12 and full electrics,all the wiring,switches,voltage regulator,radios,antannas,etc.are still there(the radios have been removed but go with the plane).I have also completely replaced the cowlings and it has new paint from the firewall forward.The N-struts could use some light touch up paint but other than that it looks pretty good and flies great.It doesn't do the greatest loops with the little C-65 but it rolls like a dream and flies hands off.Annual is good through the end of April and if you like I can sell it with a fresh annual.
    I will take $8500 for it the way it is,$6000 without the enigine(I will let all the baffles,pipes,&prop go with it),or for $11,500 I will install a first run O200 with full electrics,a fresh top and 1700TT(thats installed and ready to go).
    I have complete logs on the airframe right down to the pilots notes from the origial test flights(in great detail)and complete logs for both engines.Hopefully one of you guys will want a nice little biplane to go with your T-craft.
    I will attach a couple of photos but keep in mind these pictures where taken before I painted the firewall forward.
    Thanks,
    Kevin Mays

        Inverted !

        Crispy Critter... I like the 'inverted' photo version, and thanks for the info on West Liberty. You mentioned building hangars. I hear the FAA and Homeland Security have some new standards coming out related to airports, security, construction, etc. Another thing I do is work with insulated concrete form (ICF) in construction. Airports, hangars, and schools are now being constructed with this technology. Let me know if you are interested in info on ICF. Thanks... G. Kent Brown...
