  • 1937 Taylor Young, 1939 BL-65

Tribe- I went and looked at this the other day and thought I would pass it along. The fellow will not seperate them and is in no hurry to sell- the price appears to be non-negotiable.

Anyway- the guy is a really nice fellow and is just downsizing his project inventory as he has a few years under his belt. He has a 1937 Taylor Young and the most complete, straightest BL-65 I have ever seen. Both have engines, cowlings, gear, struts, panels, ets. The Taylor Young wings are rough, probably needing complete replacement of all ribs due to corrosion- it also may have some chain of ownership issues. The BL-65 wings are really nice- almost ready to cover, just needing leading edges installed- it's paperwork and logs are in order as well. He is asking 10k for both. The BL-65 has even been stripped and primed.

The little BL-65 has been here in NC since the 40's and would be an awesome restoration project- the cowling and all metal is very straight- all the hard to find parts are there and in excellent condition. I would love to have these just to save for later but my current project is eating my wallet!!

His name is John - telephone number is 919-776-5462. Do not call after 8pm EST.

Flying is easy- to go up you pull back, to go down you pull back a little farther.
