  • Advice for putting floats on an F19

Can anybody give me some advice on installing floats on an F19 ? What modifications to the airframe are required ? What size floats should I use ? Does the gross weight increase from 1500lb or does it stay the same ? What kind of performance can I expect ?Thanks any information from the pros would be very much appreciated !

You might want to see what the TCDS has to say, in case any floats are approved by type certificate. Then check what float STC's are applicable to your F19's type certificate. I believe you can navigate to the FAA's TCDS and STC databases via this site: www.airweb.faa.gov

Thanks Eric . That was one of the first places I checked . They don't even list a seaplane catagory in the TCDS for the F19 and the only STC listed is for auto gas.

I looked extensively this fall and I'm pretty sure I looked up these stc's via the 1A9 TCDS # on the FAA website. I'll try to give a link later when I have time to double check

Floats: Aqua 1500's, PK 1800's (Gook Luck finding a set of these), Bauman 1500's (undergoing certification -Talk to Joe Birkmeyer at Bauman Floats LLC in New Richmond, WI), Bauman 1420's, *Edo 1400's, *Edo 1320's,

*Side Note: Both sets of Edo's were Type certified for the BC12D, however you'll probably have to get a field approval to put them on a F-19, which shouldn't be a big deal -There are 337's out there that support this, however you will not be able to opperate at a max gross weight of 1500lbs.
