Trade a plane has a BC12D , white, military painted rudder that looks promising if it checks out. Price seems fair, fresh overhaul. Not too far away, flown in there several times.

It's possible this t craft is owned by lou nalbone who is the FBO. This airport is closing. He owns chautauqua aircraft sales as well.( I think) He also had a magnificent Waco bi wing which he may have sold. It was a stunner. If this t craft is indeed his or family, it should be first class. Worth checking maybe. Nalbone family have run this airport for many years. They still run jamestown n.y. Airport.

Hey Joe, Thanks for the heads up. I had noticed this airplane and guess I passed on it because I wasn't sure if it would still be light enough for LSA after having the radio and all installed. I shall call tomorrow and see what they can tell me. Thanks

I looked up the tail number on the FAA registry and it isn't registered to Mr. Nalbone.

Hi Chris... There are two people in that area that would be very well qualified to go peek at that airplane and give you a very good idea of its quality. One is magman who is on this site, the other is the fellow in Lancaster, n.y. Who rebuilt my n43338 from a basket case which you can google under " taylorcraft fun" he is a retired shop teacher who is very anal and very precise. He did a magnificent job. Nice person also. Either one would be well qualified. The latter, Al Zoltisch , is just finishing an 0200 ledgend cub I have his phone number if you care to go further. ( My airplane had been involved in a midair collision years before and Al had to start from scratch!) Hope this helps! Best joe.

I should add that the midair occurred near an airport. I'm told neither pilot was using a radio. The other plane, a cub crashed, killing the pilot. The t craft made it to the ground barely. Sometimes see and avoid doesn't cut it.
