  • Some L-2 flying...

    Here are a few pictures from our L-2M at Cannon Field yesterday.






    And yes, I know that the paint scheme is historically inaccurate. It's not my personal bird, it's owned by the Alamo Liaison Squadron, of which I am a member.

    when I had the Stearman (painted Navy colors) a former Stearman instructor at Pensacola during WW2 told me the squadron commander could paint most any type stripes, insignia he wanted on his particular Stearman. So much for "authentic schemes". I think it looks good! I'd even paint the cowling bright yellow! JC

      From the bottom it's hard to distinguish an L-2 from an L-4 for most folks anyway, so it serves it's purpose.

          Looks great to me!!! My father Al Barber lic# Comm. 26570 , tested her for the first time at the factory 9-3-43 along with 4 other ships that day....
