I need to pick the brains of you T-Craft gurus out there. I have a DC-65 serial # 4107 and am recovering the ailerons. The trailing edge is all metal and has a couple of large holes due to corrosion. The L2 repair manual shows what seems to be a wood trailing edge with aluminum formed around it. My aileron also has all metal ribs and the book shows wood. Is there a specific 1941 DC-65 manual I should get ? Next question is, can I just splice in a repair or should I replace the whole trailing edge? In the repair manual and in AC 43-13 it warns against adding weight behind the hinge line as it may induce flutter. Is this a real issue with our T's ? Any thoughts or advie on this would really help me out !!

Congratulations, Marc, you own a great rare airplane. I own a similar plane, S/N 4035, and fly it regularly. I think your plane has aluminum ribs and even spars, entirely different from the later L-2's which had wood wings. You can certainly rivet on an aluminum splice, if you don't want it to show, do it on the inside.
