I recently (3 weeks ago) obtained L-2M 43-26467 as a project. Mfg serial # L-5779. I would appreciate any L-2 help concerning the history of this bird, locating parts, L-2 knowledge. Anything. It seems to me that parts might be hard to obtain otherwise it's time to manufacture. I have the manuals & blueprints. The bird is currently in my basement torn down to the airframe (skeleton) undergoing evaluation. Please advise me on any specific areas to look for troublewise. So far the bird looks solid and the basic structure seems complete for its age. I obtained the Air Force history card and it shows the aircraft served with the Maryland Civil Air Patrol. The records are a bit confusing due to exact years of the dates are lacking. It could have served with a unit prior to the CAP. Cool aircraft and simple compared to the complex Sikorsky helos I've been around for years. I bought it for some fun and to save it to honor my fellow veterans. Thank you.
