    Re: L-2M History

I found this L2 on Ebay, it is located in Utah so it will take a week or so to get it back to Michigan, I really am looking forward to getting it. The main reason we got it is my dad is going to fly it as a sport pilot, he sold his Citabra last year.
Does anybody know a source to get canopy covers for an L2, we will keep it in a hangar but my dad has a cabin in northern Michigan and when he goes there he ties his airplane down outside.

      Dave,

I remember this L-2, it was purchased last year from a former Marine out in Maryland, I believe, then flown to Utah. They were going to use it for training, but the gross weight was a little low for them. They were going to sell it, then decided to keep it until it recently went up for sale again.

I have a source for canopy covers, I will have to dig it out and post it.

You may also want to peruse the L-2 sight on MSN Groups at: http://groups.msn.com/L2LiaisonAircrafts/messages.msnw

        Dave,

The company is Bruce's Custom Covers, you can go to their website at: www.aircraftcovers.com

They were at Oshkosh, it is a very nice product. You can get diffent colors, including olive for the military paint. I know your L-2B was grey, don't know if they repainted it before you picked it up. I plan on getting one of these in the near future. Good luck!
