  • Required equipment in BC12-D

My Form ACA-309 Page 2 lists an equipment number 318(c). Searching TC A-696, Rev 24, I can find no reference to this equipment number. Any ideas as to what equipment this number refers to?

Are there any other documents that indicate what is considered required or minimum equipment? Can the venturi/vacuum system/T&B be removed with just a log book entry?
How about the seats? Can you remove the seat back and bottom, and just fly while sitting in the sling?

If I buy a new Airtex interior, does it require a 337 or log book entry?

If I buy a new panel from David Wenglarz, will it require 337? Log book entry?

There was a renumbering of the items in the equipment list 316(g) is now 209(g) which are Federal Skis

My opinion on the issue of 337 vs. logbook entries is: item one in your list may be alteration to the Type Certificate (if the T&B was part of the original equipment or added with a 337). Alterations will require a 337. Replacing the interior and panel are "bolt on" parts replacements, and can be done with a logbook entry, but weight and balance must be addressed for all three items.

      Thanks, Mike

But the equipment number in question is 318. It is not in the renumbering list and does not appear in the TC list.

        HI Mike-
Maybe it is a typo? I think they used typewriters back then….

Have you been following the thread about the Fort Parker Taylorcraft flyin near Mexia TX on March 30-31? It would be nice to have another tcrafter attend.

I may trailer my fuselage, as my partners already have the 95910 scheduled that weekend….

            Re: Required equipment in BC12-D

Just took another look at the sequencing in the re-numbering list- It does not mention a 318, but does mention a 320 and 321, implying there may not have been a 318 or 319….

              Re: Required equipment in BC12-D

              Chuck & Mike,

Thanks for responding. In A-696, 319(c) is 12v position lights. My guess is someone used the number from A-700. I found an old 337 on the FAA CD that lists the installation of a battery box and battery for position lights. But no mention of installing lights. They must have been in from factory.

At least thats my story and I'm sticking to it. For what that's worth.

Mike, I do know about Ft. Parker. Got it on the calendar. Hope to make it.
