Actually, in this situation I don't just yet want to hear anything official from Harer. Either the situation is that my airplane is good enough as is, which means I'm no better off than I was yesterday, or it is not good enough, which means I'm worse off for asking the question.

If I'm worse off, then there is an implied responsibility on my part to disassemble my airplane, and start welding in some more structure, or give up the benefits of my STC.

I'll pass on those odds right now. If the someone in a position to know cares to inform me un-officially that my airplane is or is not capable of making use of the STC, then I will be glad to hear it. Then I will make whatever operational decisions or non-decisions I have to make.

From a LEGAL standpoint - Handwriting, passed down drawings, second hand knowledge, tradition,.... none of these things dictate the type design configuration that is approved on an STC.

The STC itself on the front page shows an eligible model or models. Also, it lists a drawing - "in accordance with". Go to that drawing. From there every document listed on that drawing (AND NOTHING MORE) dictates the approved type design. Even if Harer or Gilberti made mistakes or left something out, then later supplied you with a drawing that is not clearly part of the type design document trail - NO MATTER. Whats approved is approved and nothing more.

If there is truly a mistake or more info is needed, the STC holder is required to go back and revise the STC paperwork. There is an FAA procedure to do that.

The tubing in the front of the ships after 1407 was changed..... there is a drawing.
Scanned two drawings from the "Instruction Manual" into my photo album, page nine in the Gallery. Are these the drawings that show the changes that occurred at 1407?

As Rosanne Rosannadana would say "never mind" I looked in the empty page under your name rather than the other one.

Bill, It make sence NOT to carry 1250 lbs gross if the fuselage can only carry 1150 but the wing can carry 1250 or 1500 lbs.
In the Harar STc is there not a tubing (compresion strut) to be added in the fuselage.
I reed something about it on the this website.
