Re: 1939 Model B Paint colors
Mike: I agree on the "make or break" paint color selection. That's why I was wondering about the original color names used by Taylorcraft for the darker green and darker orange. Any one aware of the official color "names" for the green and orange dope used by Taylorcraft in 1939? If we can't locate an original spec, I definitely want to go with the darker green and orange. Usually, I have been able to trace original colors by looking in hidden areas of the fuselage for overspray, etc. In this case, the T-craft was blasted some time in the 60's or 70's and primered in green chromate - everywhere. It was then covered, and apparently, roller painted white with red trim lines. Never flew looking like that, thank goodness.
So, back to the search. Thanks for all the good ideas, Gents. Please keep it coming! Bob
