I think I am done with my jig? After much thinking and evaluating just what exactly need support and consulting a few other builders I think I am finally ready to start replacing tubes. I am fairly happy with how the fuse is supported and it aint going to flex much if any at all during repairs.

I have added a centerline reference board so I can drop a plum line from the top and make sure it stays straight as I go.

That looks good Jason... should keep her right where you want her! Good idea on the centerline board...we just drew a mark with a sharpie on the table, but it got used alot!!

Jason- Are you familliar with the thrustline mods that are getting so popular with the Super Cub folks? I wonder if there is any change we could make for similar inprovements? I guess I have never compared the thrust line to the center line on a Tcraft. I do know raising the horizontal stab (clipwing) really speeds them up and makes better use of the trim system.

He's not using a jig. Well, he does use something to bring two pieces in line.

The SC thrust line mod works better with that particular aircraft partially due to its airfoil. I have a lot of buddies long wing pipers and I have spent some quality time talking with Mark who owns the TL STC. One reason the SC benefits so much from the TL is due to how the trim works. The Tcrafts have the fixed stab and it is already supposed to be parallel to the TL. I think the wing incidence you are trying to achieve with the SC TL kit installed is 1.8 deg. I have no idea what a Tcraft AOI is. The upper longeron between the spar attach points on my ship is about +4 deg from the TL but that is not the same as the mean cord line that you use to figure the AOI.

Now I could be all wrong about the SC stuff. Just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet. Brain aint up to speed yet.

Warpage, sure things will need minor adjusting during the repairs, but I am confident that when done it will be as straight or straighter than now.
