  • need dual brake mod parts

I just delivered a NICE bc12d to a new pilot and he needs the dual brake mod parts installed before he can receive instruction in his plane. Who or where can I buy some parts from. IF necessary I can use some old one as a pattern and weld up a new set.

    Howdy Jason,

Use the existing left side for a pattern. The problem is locating the pedals. I have found that they are fairly hard to come by. You may have to mfg the pulley sheves but that is no big deal. Other than that, it isn't much more than a pain in the back side!!!

Has he looked around for an instructor who won't require brakes. I've taught several people to fly without brakes on my side without incident or a problem with the examiner on their check ride. If he has no other choice I can get you pictures of the installation. Perhaps ther are some planes undergoing restoration with dual brakes and the parts could be loaned.
