  • Safety gear cables routing?

    Anybody got a pic of the way a safety cable on the gear legs should be installed.
    Mine were rubbing on the bungys & frayed one.
    Pondered over a number of scenario's till I remounted them but still not sure if there isn't a better way

    Here is a diagram I believe I found here on the forum sometime ago. Also a couple photos from my installation last spring. Hope these help?

      Good idea to put the shrink tubing over the cable. Keeps them a bit smoother so they wont chafe the bungie...but it does mean you need to be extra vigilant about inspecting that cable.

        looks pretty similar to how I did mine, zip tied up out of the way,

          That's very nicely done Bravo.
          I assume you had the same loop on the back side?
          I ended up moving mine from the shock mount to the upper cross bar supporting the shock cords & inside the gear leg.
          That kept them completely away from the cords except where they went thru the floor & while close they weren't contacting the cords.
