Looking for float flyers

I know there some float experts on here & I'm looking
for opinions relative to the Taylorcrafts wing.

I've have T with an 85-8 recently on floats.
What kind of Cord angles are you floats guys running?
Do Tcrafts asymmetrical wings need more cord angle to get required lift on take-off compared to maybe a piper wing?
Has anybody experimented with this & whats your results?

Well I do now know it comes off the water a heck of a lot better with 7* as opposed to the 5* it was.

Senior, which float are you referring to? 1320's, 1400's, or other?
( I'm no expert, but I am going back on floats today, if everything falls in place) Dick

I'm running Lotus 1450s & getting very close to final specs now.

Senior, I'm on 1400 EDO as far as size. Right at 5 degrees opening angle. Here is a picture of an Arctic Tern on what are probably 2000 EDO's...in any case the airfoil is the same as the one on our planes. The picture angle gives you an idea of the opening angle on that particular plane. The white and blue Taylorcraft on 1320's presents a pretty good look at the opening angle(disregard the scaling lines and figures). I've never flown the Lotus floats, so can't really make a decent guess. Dick

Be advised...lotus floats are not really the same....they don't really have a well defined step.

Whats a "well defined step"?

The 1450s I have have a 3.5" step with very short tails.
It allows you to rotate fairly sharp & not drag the tails.

My F21 is on 1500 Baumanns that were installed by Baumann on their STC. I have the drawings that might have dimensions that will help you figure it out. Mine flies great. Let me know if you need that info.

Thanks Bonanza but the step location on the Lotus's are so diff as to make all normal references for location mute
