Ok 38 owners lets cordinate under this thread. I have extra parts and need some too. I also need a lot of advise. It seems that the most important topic it the windsheild manufacturing that needs to be done. How shall we do it. Can forrest help with some drawing perhaps or maybe some old original parts.

As offered up earlier, I will be happy to make the necessary metal/trim parts, but will need ORIGINAL parts or factory drawings to do it correctly. FLYLO has offered the use of originals (1938 B) as a pattern for use this winter. We will have to confirm the similarity of the different models. A more knowledgeable member can probably spit this right out? I am certainly willing to make as many sets as are needed by members ACTUALLY engaged in a restoration. I would only ask for $$ to cover materials used (though I have never turned away donations). We have tremendous potential as a group to research and make parts that are historically and functionally correct. It is always a touchy subject to "loan" out parts for reproduction....especially parts made from "unobtanium". I thank FLYLO for offering his original windshield trim as patterns.

Tribe. I had a very original A Model a while back. The windshield is 3-piece, not 4, the center piece curves over the top. I think I have I have some good photos that will tell the story. I converted a '39 to 4-piece as original and it worked fine. have pics of it too.

I'd E-mail them if I can figure out how.

Only extras I have are a lot of loose used parts from 3 or 4 A-40s; castings, crank, rods, etc. No idea if they are servicable or not.

I am happy to help in any way i can but none of my up front parts are original except the cowling. Im looking at my window parts and they were made at the last rebuild. The thing to do is check with forrrest to see if he has a drawing of the parts in question. It looks to me like there should be four strips (2 in 2 out) and 4 crazy semi s shaped parts that (2 on each side.)

i have a 1937 a model i have patterns for the three peice windshield that i fit to my a model. also have patterns for b model open cowel. open cowl and closed cowl are differnt. if you are intrested call tom baker 217 342 3540 best 7.30 to 8.00 eveing.

Hey sloanlow, do you live far from San Marcos? If not you should come and look at the strut and I will look for the temp guage. Call at (830) 996-3702 and let me know. I need two windshields for my projects also.
