For those who may be interested? I recently acquired a flying Model 15A a few months back which was sadly in need of landing gear bungee replacement. It quickly became evident that this routine task brought with it risks as well as demanded a high degree of mechanical inginuity. The manufacturer of the bungees recomended I contact Bill Turley, a former Vietnam helicopter pilot who is now president of Aircraft Engineering, Inc., a thriving maintenance facility in Bartow, FL. Having never laid eyes on a Model 15A before Turley said to get it to him early in the morning and I would be on my way back home after lunch. That was essentially how it went when I flew it up to Bartow yesterday. Mike Naab, one of Turley's talented staff mechanics along with Turley himself accomplished the bungee replacement and sent me on my way.
