JC, you might want to post a link with pictures or something. I searched the internet and couldn't find anything.

      Lee,

Try looking at this resource. Not in color, but there are lots of great pictures: http://www.alliancememory.org/cdm4/b...ROOT=%2Ftaylor

          Re: Original factory paint jobs

I have a few pictures of Jim Cooper's beautiful TCraft. I love this "Deluxe" paint job so much that I'm pretty sure that I'm going to try to do mine the same way. Jim, I hope that you don't object to my posting a pic here. Also see the drawing of different priginal paint schemes. I don't know the authenticity of this drawing. And somebody else made a cool cad rendering of the deluxe scheme. I copied from this site for reference for my own paint job. I hope that the owner of this IP doesn't object to my re-posting it here.

Another pic of Jim Cooper's NC 43338

            also:

And the airplane that just flew again after an extensive restoration at Barber airport, NC 43754, has a "Deluxe" paint job with the trim color on the leading edges of the tail surfaces. They posted a bunch of pics on this site. You might search for those.

              Lee,

No excuse needed. Some folks assume everyone knows what they are talking about.

Here are links to Ryan Newell's beautifully done plane that Tim speaks of above:

                Re: Original factory paint jobs

Lee, here are some photos that I have that were sent to me or found on the internet that may help. They are all of 1946 BC-12 Ds. Our yellow and black scheme metioned above is original save for the metioned tail stripe ( I added it because both my dad and I always like that stripe, it is Tcraft). I based it on some of these photos, and the shade of yellow was approved by Forrest Barber as close to original. It is AN Orange Yellow from Poly fiber. I have a magazine article from 1947 introducing the "new" Taylorcraft (the reopening of Taylorcraft in Alliance in 1947 under C.G. Taylor again), and its pictures show the 1947 model painted exactly like the blue one pctured here with wheel fenders.

                    Re: Original factory paint jobs

Sorry! you can see more of my deluxe paint scheme at the Taylorcraft registry....N43338. Should have mentioned that. The airplane, just finished which is at Forests airport is VERY sharp looking! Blue (or maybe black and Yellow.) VERY sparky! I like it! There is an insignia dark blue that is beautiful also. JC
