  • BC65 Aileron cable length

I've got a fellow who is refurbishing a 1938 BC65. I'm supervising the refurbish and it is going well. I instructed him to bring his aileron cables over so we could remake them, but we found that of the two wings with cables, one pair is about 4" longer than the other. Does anyone have drawings, measurements or otherwise of what the proper length for the aileron cables is? Unfortunately, this aircraft was already apart when he got it so there is no way to know if they were installed this way.

I have as many T-Craft manuals and drawings as was available for purchase, but they are all pretty sketchy on such details.

    Thanks!

    Re: BC65 Aileron cable length

I am restoring a 1946 BC 12-D and my cables on the ailerons had two of the turnbuckles turned all the way in and two all the way out. So I am trying to find the great mystery of the proper lengths. It seems to be impossible. The best advice so far is to leave the fusalage ends unfinished untill the wings are put on and make them fit to the finished job. My IA seems to prefer finishing them before. But nobody seems to know.
