  • Search for historical info

An early Talorcraft (Round control wheels, single large - round engine rpm indicator, only one door entry into right side of cabin, canvass "sling" type seat, one "lap belt" across the shared two place seat) was owned by an uncle in northern Saskatchewan during the early 1950(s). The T'Craft was damaged in a landing accident in a North/ South farmers field on the East outskirts of Sylvania, Sask. After a time in storage in a farm implement/ machine shed at my Grandad's farm, the aircraft was disassembled and and for many years "lay at rest" in a loft of a former pig barn (the pigs were no longer kept there) and then, sometime in the early 1970(s), the fuselage disappeared. My uncle has now "passed on" - so I've been unable to obtain further info. I played around (climbing into the aircraft when it was in the machine shed & played in the cockpit when the fuselage was "stored"). I wonder if any of the participants in the Taylorcraft Foundation might have known of this T'Craft. Info such as the Acft. Model & Serial number? The Canadian registration, color scheme, etc. is now sought. Can anyone offer help in this query?

      Hello, Mr. Barber.

The T'Craft was owned by Elmor Thomas at Sylvania, Saskatchewan.

      Thanks for the interest.
