  • F21b FLoat/Ski options

Hi everybody. I'm just about to make a deal on a 1990 F21b and I have a few questions for all you T-Craft owners. I've seen the list of approved equipment on the type certificate, but I have been wondering what else may be in service. Anybody have an F21b on floats? What are they? I know PK and Baumann (out of business I know) make 1800s so that is my guess having seen 21s and 19s on them. How hard is it to find rigging? Is it the same as F19 rigging? Lastly for now, has anybody ever had an F21b on 2500 skis? Overkill I know, but my Dad happens to have a pair in the shed and......well you know how that goes. Thanks for any input you may have.

The PK 1500's are certified for the Taylorcrafts, but I think the rigging might be hard to locate. I would like to put a pair of PK 1500's on my '41 next summer, but they might be too big for a 65hp. I work at PK and most likely end up making the rigging for the floats i have in mind.

Yeah I've seen a few airplanes on 1500s but with the 1750 gross on the 21b I figured it would need 1800s to be legal, wouldn't it?

I guess i didnt realize your gross weight was 1750, You would need the 1800's. If you do end up with PK's I'd be glad to help with any questions you may come up with.

Thanks for the offer and I'll take you up on it when the time comes. I'll be saving my money and watching for floats if this deal goes through. Good luck with your '41.
