    A65/A75 Issues

Just watch your paperwork on upgrading any A65 to an A75. I ended up having to build up a newly majored A65 due to a lookbook that stated "A75 Installed" but without any other documentation. It was fine for the first three annuals with my I/A, but when it came time to sell her, he questioned exactly what we had. No documentation, prop suitable for an A65, no 337 history, etc.

Paperwork, paperwork.......it's got to be right! Good lesson learned!

Traci's newly majored A65 is now nicely documented, runs beautifully, and we are keeping her. I think she just didn't want to go. :- )

The A75 has smaller diameter wrist pins. The rods are the same but have a different bushing in the small end. This would also mean the pistons must be the right ones for the small wrist pins. Since the later built A65's have all the same parts in them as the A75's the only difference should be the main jet in the carb, the mag timing, and the prop. I am going to order a new data plate for my engine because the logs call my engine an A65 but the data plate was stamped A75. I'll run it like I have been for the last 70hrs (that's 70hrs since the first week of may this year!) 2450 on take-off (no more than 30 seconds) then cruise at 2300.

I still do not have the prop I want, 74-42 or 72-42. Currently spinning a 70-42.

I do know you need the right cam/follower combo but did not know there was a difference between A65-A75

I think the C85 and C-90/0-200 have different cams/follower combos. You can't put the C90 cam in a C85 without also installing the right followers.
