    Case sample
    One has not flown for three years, he renews his medical.
    Can he fly by himself in a SEL without passenagers and practice for the biannual? We are talking whats legal not smart here.

    The answer is NO and here is the reference:

    § 61.56 Flight review.

    (c) Except as provided in paragraphs (d), (e), and (g) of this section, no person may act as pilot in command of an aircraft unless, since the beginning of the 24th calendar month before the month in which that pilot acts as pilot in command, that person has—

    (1) Accomplished a flight review given in an aircraft for which that pilot is rated by an authorized instructor and

    (2) A logbook endorsed from an authorized instructor who gave the review certifying that the person has satisfactorily completed the review.


    The key here is the phrase "act as pilot in command". Someone must be acting pilot in command of every flight. In the case of a solo pilot who is out of flight review currency, he is not qualified to act as pic per the reg quoted above, therefore he cannot fly even solo without a flight review.

      Wished i was but im in the middle of getting the house ready to sell, buying a new welder , plasma cutter and besides i could not find a decent plane fair. Nexy year i will be several thousand miles closer to Alliance
