  • O-145 Lycoming parts

Whew! Talk about withdrawal symptoms...thanks Bob.

Does anybody have a source for the cylinder head to cylinder copper compression rings and the pushrod tube rubber gaskets for the Lycoming o-145? El Reno has dried up, and nothing much on the mooney mite site. Somebody's got to be hoarding this stuff. The copper compression rings were going for a $100 each for crying out loud... when they were available!! It's enough to make me go looking for a continental ;-)

Put on the Continental ! (Sorry I just could not help myself ) Run some ads on BarnStormers . Something will turn up. It does appear though the time for the Lycoming 65hp does is drawing to a close. Time marches on.

Eric, I'll let you know if I find something. When I talked to them this week they said they had nothing for o-145's. Maybe I wasn't specific enough. I have seen solid copper rings as opposed to the 'asbestos?' ones that I had gotten from El-Reno in the past. But don't know where they came from....

              OK-

Before I go after every parts supplier in the country can anyone point me in the right direction -
I need a set of exhaust clamps for an O-145 Lycoming. The exhaust system in mine is recently installed but I believe the clamps have not been changed since 1972, as recorded in the maint. records that came with the plane. (For $2.00, back then!)
Well, you get what you pay for - as these have all rusted out, one clean through.
I understand the sleeves can be gotten in stainless now. Clamps of like material preferred, as well...
But the guy in PA who holds the TC and rebuilds Lycomings tells me exhaust parts are airframe, not engine parts. So he can't help except to offer suggestions.
I'm ready to build a new set if that's the way to go. Anyone have any better ideas?

              Thanks.

Guys- Call me in the evening- I have a friend with tons of O-145 parts. I just do not want to go putting his # in the web. He and his dad compiled probably 50 engines and tons of NOS parts. El Reno calls him for -145 parts
