  • Oil Sump Assembly

Can an oil sump assembly with the short neck be used on a BC12-D with an A65-8 Continental Engine? I found a good servicable oil sump assembly from an Aeronca Champ. Do I have to elongate the neck or can I use it as it is?

    Thanks,

Maybe the neck on this one is long enough?

I think its off a radial engine...

Real helpful, Bob. He's trying to get his plane flying, and you make not so funny jokes. I BELIEVE the answer is that he needs the longer neck because the longer-neck-sump will attach to the TCraft engine mount, while the shorter one won't.

There is no part number in the overhaul manual.

You mean the neck is supposed to be clamed to the mount? I better go check my plane....

No, What I meant to say was the oil sump neck bolts to the engine engine mount. Taylorcrafts do need the long neck.

Its my Evil side again. Ed, why don't you send him the one of your airplane? Now that would be helpful!
