    Jim:
are you thinking of a experimental 51% kit that starts with a T-craft, clips the wings, adds a small radial? WOW! Sounds like the ultimate LSA! Count me in.

Howdy, folks! I hear these high weight numbers and flinch. My plane weighs in at 809 lbs. and with only 100 hp on tap, the little 11 ft. wings need speed to go up. If I had an electrical system it probably wouldn't fly.

        Re: 180HP or 100HP

I have a semi swick 5 feet off the wing 2.5 off each side. It sill has the stock wing tips. With a stock O-320-A2B = 160hp at full power. A twisted composite 74-61 composite prop, skyteck light weight starter, light weight odyssey battire,Cessna 150 wheels, axles, brakes and rudder ped. 24gal of fuel in the wings and a 15gal tank behind the seat. It has a empty weight of 993. No inverted oil or gas!
I flight plan all day long at 8gal an hr at 7,500 feet. With this set up I have a 130mph cross country airplane(4hr range with lots of res) and a rock en aerobatic plane. At full power 4,000 msl its 2750 rpm and 165mph. It climes out all day long with full fuel at 2,000fpm. Full of fuel form sea level to 10,000msl is only 11mins.
In my mind the O-320 is the only way to go. It's lighter then a O-360 cheaper and way more fuel efficient. Also you can still get new parts. Some of the cont. are getting harder and harder to get cranks for. And if you like doing the low and slow it dose it fine just pull the power knob back. You will have lots of power just in case you get into trouble. With the O-320 you can also get 150hp cyld. and burn auto fuel! This will save some cash in today's market.
This is just one more guys thoughts on it!
