  • Clipped T-Cart Leading Edge Ribs

I need the help of the Clipped-T Clan to restore the leading edge ribs on my clipped T-Cart project.

I am clipping a BC 12D using the Swick Conversion and about half the leading edge ribs are damaged due to corrosion--mice got to them while in storage.

Does anyone have plans for a jig to make new leading edge ribs? I am (slowly) constructing one now using one of the damaged ribs; however, things would go much faster if I had plans for the jig. Can any of you help?

    Thanks.

I take it you are using the aluminum ribs. .. . I have jigs for wood ribs and I have a box full of aluminum ribs if you need them.

How far are you along on the project?

    Take care-

      Eric:

Yes, aluminum leading edge ribs. I am interested, so let me know the cost of the ribs.

As for the wood ribs you are building, are you using the NACA 23015 which is the one used on the T-Cart? Are they the truss-type?

I am not far along on the project--basically in the tear down stage. I am in the Air Forced and resently stationed in Germany; however, plan to return this summer and resume the project. I hit 30 years in 2008 and mandatory retirement, so should have more time to devote to the project. Thanks for the reply.

Actually the airfoil on the T is a 23012- same as the Model 12 Pitts, Samson, and I think the Beech Staggerwings.

I will send you a PM on the ribs. I have tons of them.

          Eric:

Thanks. Sorry about the mix up on the airfoil. I fat fingerd 23015 vice the actual 23012 like the on the Steven's Akro (Lazer). Did you receive my reply to your PM?

Thanks for the offer. I have my buddies looking into the number of leading edge ribs I need. More to follow.
