The FSDO has been out and looked at the modification and appeared favorably impressed. The exhaust mod bypasses the turbochargers which were cracking and damaging the nacelles with blow-by gasses creating a very dangerous situation. The modification, as seen in the drawing, is an absolutely beautiful weldment that end-plates the normal exhaust duct and dumps the gasses safely downward. After viewing and discussing the modification with Chuck and others in the CAF wing, Mr Stahl sent the memo requesting detailed information to assist in preparing a report which he (Mr Stahl) will forward to Dallas for an approval determination.
The CAF folks did an engine run and collected some data per the attached data sheet. I do not know the RPM and MP of these runs, but Chuck Conway will be able to provide that information.
