    Taylorcraft Foundation News Summer 6-24-04

Heh there, how about this weather? How about those Cleveland Indians? What is going on with Taylorcraft at LaGrange, Texas? ?? Many common questions around Alliance, Oh. I just smile and nod a lot……….

What a Spring, missed Sun-n-Fun, missed LaGrange, missed Sentimental Journey, have to miss the Ohio Aerobatic Open this weekend. We are still fighting flooding and grass that just won’t quit growing. The Old-Timers had a meeting last night for their set-up for the fly-in and I had two students so had to miss that one. Well enough of this gloom & doom!!!

I will have the field mowed for the fly-in and Bruce is scrambling about to find airplane parkers, Chuck & the gang cannot make it this year, something about fighting in the Middle East (Oh boy there I go again!) I have a Scout troop to handle the auto parking and am sure somebody will pop up to park airplanes…. Any takers??

For you non-internet folks here is a partial clip from the web site that tells all:

Barber Airport, (2D1) Alliance, Ohio. Noted Corvair engine conversion authority William Wynne will be holding his 7th ‘Corvair College” This event is being co-sponsored by EAA Chapter 82, Alliance.

This weekend we have the Balsa-Bee Model aircraft guys doing a complete Helicopter contest on Fri. thru Sun. then we have the Funks lurking about on July 2nd & 3rd. The Aeronca Fly-in will be Aug 13th, 14th & 15th. Remember the TAYLORCRAFT gang is invited to all events if you cannot make the big weekend after the 4th of July.
